Question by Alex M. = R marrowfat peas gd 4 u ? And r butter beans gd
Answer = Peas have alot of natural sugar in them, as do corn but depending on the diet you are on most fruit and veg are good for you. Butter Beans, as with all beans are extreamly high in protien and so will supply you with energy but either way it is good to have a varied mix of beans and pulses and that sort of thing in your diet.
Question by Alex M. = Im nt on a diet im just cutting down on crap.im a veggie bt am aenemic as wel.i just need to get rid of my belly, i do sum exercising bt i love carbo hydrates bt ave brown pasta etc.any tips-
Answer = A diet is not about losing weight or anything else. A diet is the food you and I eat everyday, whether it’s low carb, high fiber, low sugar or a seefood diet (sweets and chocolate) it’s still a diet. Our diet is just what we eat, whatever we eat. If you love carbs but want to lose weight, your doing the right thing. Whole wheat instead of white good so brown rice, pasta and bread. If you want to eat more veg you should avoid peas, beans and corn as they have high sugar content. Carrots are also high in natural sugars as are tomatos. To get an idea of where carbs are in our diet you should look at the atkins plan. Not to actually do it, although it has it’s charms, but just to get a better idea of what carbs are and how they work and what foods we should look out for them in.
Question by Liz D. = need some healthy recipes that atr 600 cals or less, suggestions on a post card please
Answer = Most stews and soups that have lots of veg that are low in sugar will be extremely low cal. Some of the ones I have on my website are very low cal. I personally have created a soup that is the weight watchers diet – is a No point soup – so you can eat as much of it as you like. And in the cabbage soup diet, the fat burning soup has hardly anything in it at all. But the idea is to use as little sugary things and very little fat. So for example, you can make a spag bol with lean mince and don’t put sugar in the sauce, it’s a question of using recipes that you already use but altering them so they are low cal.

Hi Dee,
Websites looking good. Hope it all works out brill for you.
Any suggestions for a reciepe for rice salad? its one of those foods I really enjoy but have never masterd to make. I like the spicey/fruity sort but any would be good. Especially what sort of rice to use.
Thanks
Kat
Rice Salad is a tricky thing to master. Flavouring rice in general can be troublesome. I’ll do some research and get back to you, see if I can come up with a particular recipe for you to try out.
And thanks, it’s been fun to set up and continue but it’s tougher than it looks. Not everyone is complimantary. Hope things are good for you Kat,
Dee
